Exploring the Nakshatras in Vedic Astrology ⋆ Angelorum Tarot

nakshatras

Today we are (finally!) going to look into the Nakshatras, aka the lunar mansions. As some of you already know, I made the swap to True Sky Sidereal Astrology a while back. For some reason, this led to me losing an interest in following the Moon’s journey through the Zodiac. Maybe it was because the majority of my metaphysical colleagues stick to Tropical Astrology or maybe I just found it difficult to tune into the Sidereal lunar energy…

Either way, it can be hard to swim against the stream. When I decided to make the daily draw about the Full Moon energy, I felt drawn to look up the Lunar Mansion associated for today’s Aquarius Full Moon. (<– Click the link for an Aquarius Full Moon Tarot Spread).

I learned that the Nakshatra associated with today’s Full Moon in Aquarius, Dhanistha, is ruled by Mars and straddles Capricorn and Aquarius. This gave me a better understanding of what we are dealing with on this Full Moon. That said, I’m right at the beginning of my journey with both Western and Vedic Sidereal Astrology. I’m not sure how close to ‘True Sky’ the Vedic Nakshatras are, for instance.

The Nakshatras are supposedly based on the Moon’s position along the ecliptic.

Below is a summary of the 27 Nakshatras. You can find out which Nakshatra your Natal Moon was in HERE. If you check yours out, I’d love to hear about it in the comments… Is it a good fit?

Key Points about Nakshatras
